The Chinese Sports Temple Fair, the first of its kind in China, officially opened Feb 16 at Haitang Square in Sanya, China's Hainan province.
The seven-day fair integrates sports, sports tourism and sports shopping, aiming to create a healthy Spring Festival atmosphere and good environment for sports.
Three stages with 50 performances, 20 booths and 48 interactive projects are on display, and more than 20 stars are participating in the event, which is expected to attract millions of guests and also be the largest sports fair in Hainan during the Spring Festival.
Officials at the opening ceremony included Zhao Yong, deputy director of the General Administration of Sport of China; Wang Lu, vice-governor of the Hainan provincial government; Zhang Chi, director of the China Sports Lottery Center of the General Administration of Sport of China; Lin Guangqiang, head of the Hainan Provincial Department of Culture, Radio, Film, Television, Publication and Sports; and Xu Zhenling, vice-mayor of the Sanya municipal government.
