Hainan introduced a beautiful village construction policy earlier this month that includes six terms such as land-use, budget outlays, and finance and tax reductions.
Social capital and all social circles, including enterprises, lawyers, technical talents and architects are encouraged to take part in the construction work.

Construction work of the first 42 beautiful villages in Hainan Island began in late 2013. The province has put 16 billion yuan ($2.5 billion) into building its beautiful villages since 2015, and as many as 222, including Shihan village in Qiongzhou county, Zhongliao village in Sanya and Longshou village in Qionghai have been built in places that are more green, livable, convenient and harmonious.

This year, a total of 700 beautiful villages that are livable and suitable for tourism and offer more job opportunities will be built, according to the Hainan beautiful village general plan for 2016-2025. Construction of all the villages will be finished by 2025.
