According to Han Jianping, deputy director of the bureau, dancesport is a competitive event combining sports and art. After years of development, the open tournament has become a name card showcasing Sanya's fitness-for-all program. The integration mode of sports added to tourism has also become a new consumption hotspot and is increasingly popular with global consumers. In the future, the mode will be upgraded and the sports economy will be vigorously developed with culture and tourism encompassed.
The Sanya Dancesport Open founded in 2009 has become a large-scale local fitness-for-all sport event. Every July, Sanya sees large numbers of students, amateur and professional dancers, and people from all walks of life coming to the city to participate in the gala.
