A pilot 3D pedestrian crossing at Hebang Road in Meilan district, Haikou, recently caught people's eyes.

With a pattern of sea world comprising such animals as dolphins, sharks, jellyfish and corals, the stereoscopic zebra crossing is 20 meters long and three meters wide. It is meant to alert vehicle drivers to give way to pedestrians to a greater degree.

After its final completion, the local traffic department will evaluate the crossing's effect from multiple aspects to determine whether to further generalize the move.
