The Agile Clearwater Bay 2018 Lingshui International Beach Half Marathon will kick off in Lingshui county, Hainan province on Dec 2, according to a press conference held in Beijing on Oct 29.
The event aims to celebrate the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening-up and the 30th anniversary of Hainan being made a province and a special economic zone, as well as contribute to developing the island province into a national sports training base in South China and a provincial-level sports center.
The half marathon will be sponsored by the Chinese Athletic Association, Lingshui Li autonomous county people's government, and Hainan Agile Real Estate Development Co Ltd. There will be a half marathon, a 10km race and a 2.5km family run.

The medal for the event will be based on Li's brocade, an intangible cultural heritage of the ethnic group, and combines patterns of a totem, a sun, a beach and waves. It aims to call for the protection of cultural heritage and help build Hainan's beautiful villages.
Live broadcasting of the event will be available around the globe through domestic TV channels and network live-broadcasting platforms.
