Hainan to build 30 internet plus agricultural towns by 2020

Hainan province plans to build 30 internet plus agricultural towns by 2020, aiming to explore a new way of promoting the development of rural e-commerce and the integration of agriculture with primary, secondary and tertiary industries.

To date, Hainan has built 13 internet plus agricultural towns, including Shishan town in Haikou; Huiwen town, Dongjiao town and Longlou town in Wenchang; Yingzhou town in Lingshui Li autonomous county; Jiyang district in Sanya; Poxin town in Tunchang county; Shiyuetian town in Changjiang Li autonomous county; Fushan town in Chengmai county; Mutang town in Danzhou; Dalu town, Boao town and Tayang town in Qionghai.

Many of these towns have completed infrastructure construction such as operating centers, power grids and networks and have almost realized full 4G networks in villages and full coverage of Wi-Fi in key areas.
