The 2018 China Danzhou International Marathon kicked off at the Danzhou Cultural Park on Dec 23.
A total of 16,000 contestants participated in full marathons, half marathons, a mini marathon race and a mini marathon joy run.
The activity was sponsored by the Chinese Athletics Association, the Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sport of Hainan Province, and the Danzhou municipal people's government.
It is part of the 2018 Hainan International Tourism Island Carnival.
