The first Global Fintech Innovation Summit held in Haikou on Jan 8 attracted a number of well-known domestic and overseas investors, leaders of investment institutions and representatives of financial schools.
During the two-day period, they discussed the current situations and industrial prospects of fields such as finance, blockchain technology and cross-border e-commerce.
At the opening ceremony, Lu Min, deputy director of the Hainan Provincial Department of Commerce, analyzed the unique advantages and policies of the China (Hainan) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) in terms of financial openness. He detailed Hainan's future plans for FTZ development and welcomed domestic and foreign investors to join in Hainan's economic progress.

Jim Rogers, a famous Wall Street investor from the US, shared his views on the topic "How Can Digital Economy Empower the Real Economy". He used data to analyze the economic situation in China and the rest of the world and was confident that digital economy would change the nature of life and work.
During the summit, roundtable panels were held on the topics "Traditional Capital Meets New Economy", "AI and Blockchain Technology" and "The Future of Finance".
The Hainan Fintech Industry Alliance was also established at the summit. It aims to offer services and facilitate cooperation among fintech practitioners and new entrepreneurs so as to expand the influence of the fintech industry in Hainan and optimize the allocation of resources.
