The Hainan delegation to the 2nd Session of the 13th National People's Congress held its second plenary session in Beijing on March 4.
Liu Cigui, secretary of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee, and Zhang Yesui, chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People's Congress, attended the conference.
By March 4, the Standing Committee of the Hainan Provincial People's Congress had submitted eight draft bills and 49 draft recommendations from the Hainan Provincial Legislative Affairs Commission of the Parliament's Standing Committee, provincial commission for discipline inspection, and other relevant government departments.
The office of the Hainan Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee made modifications to the drafts after detailed discussions and deep contemplation.
After the conference, four recommendations that accurately reflected the need to deepen reform and opening-up and develop the China (Hainan) Pilot Free Trade Zone and a free trade port with Chinese characteristics, as well as seven other well-reasoned draft bills offering effective solutions, will be submitted on behalf of the delegation.
The conference decided to make further improvements to the drafts and hand them over to the NPC discussion panel in a timely manner to show Hainan's commitment to serving the nation.
