The Haikou Clock Tower, located on Changdi Road and close to Renmin Bridge, is one of the eight most famous scenic spots in Haikou, Hainan province. It was originally built around 1929, an initiative by then-trade union leader Zhou Chengmei to set up a unified standard timing facility in the city.

The clock tower covers 16 square meters and has been a historical witness to the development of Haikou. Once a timer for the port and shipping enterprises, the Haikou Clock Tower is now one of Haikou's most important landmarks and symbolic buildings.

The walls are made of red brick and white lime pointings. The big clock is set on the fifth floor and tells the time every 30 minutes.

In 1987, the Haikou government renovated it and changed the old clock into a new modern one, using advanced electronic clocks.

Since February 2019, the scenic spot has opened the first floor to the public, with people from across the city flocking to admire the ancient building, which oozes with history and beauty.

To meet the demands of the growing number of tourists, the opening hours have been extended from 8:00-12:00 and 14:00-17:00 to 8:00-22:00 every day (except holidays).
