To alleviate the pressure on fever clinics at hospitals and reduce the risk of cross infection, the Sanya Central Hospital (The Third People's Hospital of Hainan Province) began offering online consultation services on Jan 29, according to hospital officials.
Those who have the symptoms associated with upper respiratory tract infections -- such as fever, cough, chills, or a runny nose -- or people who want to gain online knowledge about the prevention of the pneumonia related to the coronavirus infection can follow the WeChat account "gh_74114bcf5f39" (三亚中心医院海南省第三人民医院). Click "Smart Hospital"(智慧医院) and choose "fever clinics consultation"(发热门诊咨询).
While consulting a doctor, people should offer the following information in detail: name, gender, age, contact history, travel history, symptoms, current treatments and previous diseases. They can take pictures and leave messages when necessary.
The services are being offered free of charge to the public.
Officials said online doctors will respond as soon as possible from 8 am to noon and 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
