The Hainan Provincial Health Commission announced on Feb 8 that new adjustments have been made on the medical services offered by designated hospitals for the treatment of the novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP).
All of the adult NCP patients will be centrally treated in Haikou and Sanya at four hospitals: Hainan General Hospital, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Hainan Medical University, Sanya Central Hospital, and the Second Naval Hospital of Southern Theater Command.
Patients under serious conditions will be treated mainly at Hainan General Hospital and Sanya Central Hospital.
Children infected by the novel coronavirus will receive treatments in Haikou, with Haikou People's Hospital listed as the designated hospital. Suspected cases of children will be treated mainly in Haikou and Sanya at Haikou City Orthopaedics and Diabetes Hospital, supported by Hainan Women and Children Medical Center, and Sanya City Womenfolk and Infant Health Care Hospital.
Confirmed child patients or suspected cases who are in severe condition will receive treatments in local cities and counties by medical teams guided by provincial experts, or will be transfered to Haikou and Sanya in cases of emergency.
The Second Affiliated Hospital of Hainan Medical University will not recieve suspected patients from Feb 8, and efforts will be made at the hospital to accelerate the confirmation of suspected cases to ensure sufficient beds for NCP patients.
