English version of health QR code to aid Hainan COVID-19 containment

South China's Hainan province launched an English-version of its health QR code on March 10 to better assess the health conditions of those coming to Hainan from overseas countries, as well as to meet their demands for travelling, working, and living on the tropical island.  

With the gradual resumption of work and production in Hainan, a large number of foreigners have come to the island and as of 8:00 pm on March 10, a total of 15,674 overseas users applied for the Hainan Health QR Code and joined in the province's epidemic prevention and control efforts.

While using the platform, many encountered language problems, and the new English version will make it more convenient for them to register and apply for the health QR code.

At present, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan residents, as well as foreigners can register and apply for the QR code on Alipay with steps including downloading the Alipay app, opening an Alipay account, completing real-name verification, searching for "海南健康码" (Hainan Health QR Code) at the front page of the app or clicking "城市服务" (City Services) to find "海南健康码".

After entering the "海南健康码" (Hainan Health QR Code) page, users can switch between Chinese and English versions, fill in their personal information, and get a QR code.
