The second phase project of the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center is currently in full swing and is expected to bring more opportunities for Hainan's conventions and exhibitions industry, a key part of Hainan's highlighted MICE industries.
MICE industries, short for industries of meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions, are key industries fostered by Hainan to promote the construction of a pilot free trade zone and free trade port.
The second phase project has seen remarkable "Hainan speed" during its construction, with water and electricity work completed in over 10 days, the 31,000 square meter roof grid welding and upgrading done in three months, as well as capping of the steel structure finished in a year.
The total construction area of the project spans about 198,000 square meters, of which the floor area above ground is 113,900 square meters, and the underground construction area is about 84,700 square meters, according to Shi Zhiquan, person in charge of the project construction.
