The Chinese tropical city Sanya held a special ceremony at Wuzhizhou Island tourism zone on May 12 to mark the 200 day countdown of the 6th Asian Beach Games, an inter-continental event that will be held from Nov 28 to Dec 6.
At the event,
the design highlights of the Asian Beach Games' opening ceremony
and the latest progress of the preparatory work were released. The first batch
of franchisees signed their contracts, marking the
beginning of the full-speed sprint period for the event's preparatory
work.
The special
licensed products of the 6th Asian Beach Games include cultural and creative goods
with independent intellectual property rights, covering seven product categories
of the mascot Yaya including
dolls, drums, refrigerator stickers, bags, badges, and notebooks.
The ceremony
also invited representatives of the Hainan medical team that assisted Hubei during the province's fight
against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and an outstanding
representative was announced to be the torchbearer.
The countdown
event aims to encourage all members of the organizing committee to vigorously
speed up the preparation process for various tasks, while also promoting a city-wide
campaign among all ethnic groups and tourists to welcome the upcoming
Asian Beach Games, said Ye Kaizhong, deputy secretary general of the
working committee for 6th Asian Beach Games Organizing Committee.
As the first-ever inter-continental sport event to be held in Hainan province, the 6th Asian Beach Games will encompass 17 main events including surfing, beach soccer, beach kabaddi, beach wrestling and jujitsu, teqball, three on three basketball, dragon boat races, as well as powered paragliding.
