'Zero-tariff' Australian cattles arrive in Hainan

CGTN | Updated: 2020-07-06

On the morning of July 3, the first batch of imported live cattle from Australia arrived at Macun Port in south China's Hainan Province after a 10-day journey at sea.

The "zero tariff" arrangement for the Australian cattle benefit from the preferential policies while the trade and transportation costs were reduced through large-scale centralized purchases.

The new zero-tariff import of Australian live cattle will enable more Hainan residents and even consumers across the country to eat more affordable, safer and higher quality beef products. This batch of imported Australian live cattle is from a purely natural, high-quality pasture in Australia.
