"We will take full advantage of the festival, carry out nation-wide promotions, and host a series of special activities to make the shopping festival one of Hainan's iconic tourism activities," Gao said, adding that efforts will be made to cultivate the "tourism plus tax-free" market, attract more tourists to Hainan for shopping, as well as promote the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port and an international tourism consumption center.
