The Hainan Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone Administration launched three products during a release conference on July 20, aiming to build a smart Boao Hope City.
The three products, namely the Hope City Health Applet, the "Ever Lasting" International Innovation Medicine Cloud Exhibition, and the Indult Drug Equipment Traceability Management Platform, are expected to offer comprehensive services for patients, as well as provide bigger exhibition platforms for companies managing medicine and medical devices.
The Hope City Health Applet integrates various functions, such as appointment booking, demand registration, patient recruitment, and online consultation, providing mobile medical treatment solutions for patients before, during, as well as after diagnosis.
The "Ever Lasting" International Innovation Medicine Cloud Exhibition has made full use of advanced technologies to surpass time and space limits, allowing online users to see the offline exhibition booths through cloud computing technology.
The exhibition, which opened on April 10, has been the only one of its kind in China that can display innovative medicine and medical devices that haven't entered the Chinese market for a long time. The exhibition has attracted 25 transnational companies, showcasing more than 300 kinds of exhibits.
The Indult Drug Equipment Traceability Management Platform was jointly built by the administration and Neusoft, a provider of innovative information technology.
"In order to bring more convenience to patients seeking treatment in Boao Hope City, we have made use of electronic signature technology to realize online quick approval, greatly reducing the time for patients waiting for indult medicine or medical devices as the whole process used to take 27 days on average," said Zhang Yanqing, vice president of Neusoft.
"The release of these three products is only the first step forward in the construction of a smart Boao Hope City," said Gu Gang, Party secretary of the administration.
"The administration will apply technologies, such as artificial intelligence, Internet plus, and big data mining to boost innovation in areas including medical diagnosis, clinical treatment, and hospital operation to contribute to the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port," added Gu.
