Located in the Haikou Dayingshan Central Business District, the Window to Global Trade (WGT) plays a key role in Hainan province in terms of advancing the "Hundreds of Countries and Thousands of Enterprises" project, which aims to attract thousands of foreign investors and trading companies from hundreds of countries to the tropical island.
The WGT seeks to attract international investment and overseas enterprises as well as permanent representative offices of international enterprises to China, in order to boost international trade of various types.
It opened to business in July 1, 2020 and by Dec 31, 2020, a total of 405 enterprises from 32 countries and regions had settled there. This is a result of the master plan for the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port as released by the State Council on June 1.
Among the settled companies, 83 were foreign-funded, covering areas including trade, tourism, culture, education and medicine.
The WGT aims to become one of Hainan FTP's highlight projects. It is building an international cooperation platform for small- and medium-sized enterprises, and is striving to become a top venue for foreign investment and an incubator for international trade.
To facilitate the establishment of enterprises and provide them with better services, the WGT provides "one-stop" business services, including company registration, visa consultation, and policy interpretation, and has set up a direct communication and match-making mechanism. Working closely with relevant departments of Hainan province, a special green channel for business registration, banking, taxation and entry and exit services has also been opened.
