The US electric vehicle and clean energy company Tesla is set to participate in the first China International Consumer Products Expo in order to deepen its links with Hainan Free Trade Port, the Hainan International Economic Development Bureau said on Feb 18.
Tao Lin, vice president of Tesla Global, said that the expo, to be held in Hainan in May this year, will display the progress made in the construction of the Hainan FTP, and that Tesla attaches great importance to this expo and is honored to be invited.
Since 2020, Tesla has accelerated its deployment in the Hainan FTP and made a number of breakthroughs. Both sides are hoping to maintain friendly interactions, deepen cooperation and exchanges, and leverage their strengths to promote cooperation and achieve greater results.
Tesla was established in the United States in 2003. Its business covers electric cars, solar panels, and energy storage equipment, and it provides overall services from energy generation, storage to transportation.
Tesla's automobile business achieved profitability for several consecutive quarters in 2020, setting a record for the company's annual turnover. Since the establishment of an independent legal entity in Hainan, Tesla has drawn high-quality partners from outside the province to settle in Hainan.
