Companies from over 50 countries and regions will put their luxury yachts on display to generate sales and business opportunities, at the first China International Consumer Products Expo which will be held in Haikou – capital city of China's southernmost Hainan province – on May 7-10.
Officials said that by April 28, over 30 yachts or pleasure boats had been shipped to the Haikou National Sailing Base and Public Pier, the venue for the yacht exhibition which will be held in conjunction with the consumer products expo.
They said the yacht exhibition will cover a total area of 15,000 square meters, with a land exhibition zone and a water zone both set up for nearly 120 yachts.
The yacht show will feature yachts from well-known domestic and foreign brands from countries such as the United States, France, Denmark, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom. More than 300 professional buyers from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and overseas will participate in the event to seek business opportunities.
The organizers will also launch more than 10 business match-makings, industry summit forums, a yacht night event, high-end boat experiences, water shows and other activities to build a close communications platform for exhibitors, buyers and guests.
By hosting the exhibition, the city of Haikou is said to be trying to attract a yacht R&D center. It also wants to promote yacht design, manufacturing and trade business, as well as cultivate an internationally competitive yacht industry chain and boost the healthy and rapid development of Hainan's yacht industry.
All these efforts are also seen helping the development of an international tourism hub in Hainan.
