Think tank shares insights on Hainan FTP construction

The Research and Development International (RDI) at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences held a summit in Haikou on June 23, with experts gathering to share ideas on the "dual circulation" of Hainan Free Trade Port and a new model of opening-up. 

At the meeting, many experts in urban planning, environmental preservation, digital technology and other fields discussed opportunities brought about by the Hainan FTP, and offered suggestions for how Hainan can comprehensively deepen reform and opening up while also accelerating construction on the Hainan FTP.

Zhou Mingwei, former director of the China Foreign Language Publishing and Distribution Administration, suggested Hainan boost its international level by improving multilingual services and public signage, building an international service center and highlighting Hainan's unique features as it develops.  

Other experts shared insights in areas including high-standard service trade, duty-free shopping, international medical tourism, low-carbon development, marine economy, the integration of Hainan with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the development of the high-tech industry.
