Bi Kun, a windsurfer from South China's Hainan qualified for the Men's Windsurfing RS: X Medal Race at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games on July 29.
Bi has finished 12 rounds of competition with 67 points, currently ranking him in fifth place among other competitors.
Bi ranked tenth during the first two days, but the Hainan windsurfer cruised through the remaining rounds, winning himself fourth, second and sixth places in the 10th, 11th and 12th rounds of the competition to earn himself a spot in the finals.
The highest ranking for a Chinese male windsurfer is fifth place in the world, which was achieved by Zhou Yuanguo, the present head coach of the China men's national windsurfing team, at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.
