To provide more convenient COVID-19 screening services for citizens, the city of Haikou in Hainan province put 30 special buses into use on Aug 10 to conduct nucleic acid tests.
The vehicles are implemented to prohibit mass gatherings at testing sites, officials from Haikou municipal health committee said.
The officials also noted that the vehicles have been remodeled from ordinary buses, and will have a personal information verification desk at the front door and a nurse at the back door to mainly serve those with yellow Hainan Health Codes.
The buses will help promote the city's campaign to screen out all people from key groups and eliminate the spread of COVID-19. It will also reduce the possibility of cross-infection between those with yellow codes and green codes.
