Hainan's darts team hits bullseyes at National Paralympic Games

On Oct 25, the darts final at the 11th China's National Paralympic Games and the 8th Special Olympic Games was held in Weinan, Shaanxi province, and three athletes from the Hainan's darts team placed on point.

Li Quansheng won the championship in the men's hearing-impaired group, Feng Liqiong won the championship in the women's hearing-impaired group, and Huang Yixiang won second place in the women's sitting group.

A total of 173 athletes, coaches and staff from 23 teams from all over the country participated in the Paralympic darts competition. The competition was divided into six groups: men's physical disability standing group, women's physical disability standing group, men's physical disability sitting group, women's physical disability sitting group, men's hearing-impaired group, and women's hearing-impaired group.

A total of eight athletes from Hainan province participated in the darts competition. After fierce competition, four athletes entered the quarterfinals and three athletes reached the finals.

Huang Huidong, coach of the Hainan darts team, said the results show the athletes' achievements come from their years of training. It also represents that Hainan is becoming a major domestic player in Paralympic darts.

Huang added that in the future, the Hainan darts team will develop the sport of darts for the disabled in Hainan and make more achievements for the disabled in all sports in Hainan.
