The fifth Hainan International Health Industry Expo, an influential health industry event and one of 10 exhibition projects Hainan province plans to develop during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), is being held in Haikou from Nov 12 to 14.
The expo has been comprehensively upgraded this year. It consists of three sections: an exhibition, a conference and various activities. The 45,000 square meters set aside for the exhibition will include many pavilions focusing on innovative medical equipment, high-end healthcare products, cosmetic medicine, TCM rehabilitation, medical care and healthy lifestyles. It is estimated that there will be more than 6,000 participants, attracting more than 500 domestic and foreign companies.
During the expo, the China International Health Industry Summit Forum and more than 30 parallel forums will be held, bringing together many well-known experts and scholars in the industry.
Kang Le, president of the Beijing Institute of Life Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhang Wenhong, director of the China National Center for Infectious Diseases, and Zhou Xiaonong, director of the National Institute of Parasitic Diseases at Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, brought up a number of forward-looking global health issues focusing on topics such as the development of the COVID-19 vaccine, "One health", and the elimination of infectious diseases.
In addition, many technological products were unveiled at this year's exhibition. For example, the world's first inhaled COVID-19 vaccine, jointly developed by prominent Chinese vaccine developer Chen Wei's team and Chinese biotech company CanSino Biologics Inc, will be unveiled and participants will be invited to experience it for free.
