Boao holds forum to plan high-quality economic development

From Dec 2 to 5, the 2021 Boao Forum for Chinese Entrepreneurs was held in Boao, Hainan province, gathering more than 1,000 entrepreneurs to plan China's high-quality economic development.

The rapid rise of new technologies, new industries, and new business formats has profoundly affected China's technological innovation, industrial structure adjustment, and economic and social development. How to explore new opportunities for digital transformation and new paths for green development have become the focus of the conference.

Xinhua News Agency's Party Group Member and Secretary-general Gong Xixiang said in his opening speech that enterprises are the biggest innovators. Only by giving full play to the leading role of the digital economy in the practices of enterprises, can it promote the green development of traditional industries.

The 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25) is an important window of opportunity to develop the digital economy, which has huge development potential. Xiao Yingzi, member of the Standing Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee, said that in accordance with the background of digital and green development, Hainan is accelerating the establishment of a modern industrial system supported by tourism, modern service industries, high-tech industries, and high-efficiency tropical agriculture.

In addition to the main forum, it also held over 10 parallel forums such as the Green Development Summit Forum, the 2021 China New Consumption Development Conference, and the China Dual-Carbon Economic Construction Summit Dialogue.

To date, the Boao Forum for Chinese Entrepreneurs has been successfully held six times and has become a high-end exchange platform for Chinese entrepreneurs.
