The 2021 Shared Farm Conference was held in Sanya on Dec 15, inviting experts, scholars and representatives from all over the country to the Damao Shared Farm to discuss the development of shared farms.
In recent years, Hainan province has built 200 pilot shared farms, and the shared farm model has begun to see results.
Zheng Xinli, executive vice chairman of the China Urban-townization Promotion Council, said that the development of shared farms has helped farmers achieve common prosperity in rural areas, since it may well turn dormant resources in the countryside into capital and find an investment outlet for social capital.
The guests also talked about the need to make adjustments in development philosophy, production methods, industrial structure and the institutional system to promote the healthy development of shared farms, and about the necessity to create shared farms that combine ecology and digitalization, retaining the multi-dimensional functions and cultural characteristics of agriculture and rural areas without over-exploiting them. Afterwards, three summit dialogues were held to provide ideas for the development of Hainan's shared farms.
