HNU teachers, students create 3D tropical rainforest painting

Updated: 2021-12-17

In order to create an artistic and cultural atmosphere, a team led by Professor Tang Lichun at Hainan University's (HNU) School of Art and Design made a bold attempt to create a 3D ground painting entitled "Hello, Tropical Rainforest" on the campus.

The 3D ground painting has become popular in recent years. It plays with optical principles to create the illusion of 3D.

The painting features jagged rocks, tropical animals and plants, Li ethnic patterns and ocean waves. The vibrant colors create a beautiful visual spectacle.

Since Oct 3, teachers and students at the School of Art and Design have been using their free time to help make the 3D painting, which took three months to complete and turned the monotonous campus intersection into a colorful piece of art.
