Luo Qingming, president of Hainan University, participated in the 8th CPC Hainan Provincial Congress on April 26.
Luo said that HNU has promoted three major reforms of the modern college system, the full credit system, and the collaborative innovation center. The university also provides personalized education plans for students and attracts and brings up talents according to the needs of Hainan's industrial development, which contributes to Hainan's high-quality development.
In recent years, HNU has been committed to promoting international cooperation and exchanges in higher education. To date, HNU has established study centers in cooperation with the University of Waikato and Massey University in New Zealand. Hundreds of students came to study here last year, noted Luo.
HNU has also initiated the establishment of university alliances in physical, art, and tourism education in cooperation with ASEAN, attracting nearly 100 universities from 12 countries and regions to join and build a platform for studying abroad in Hainan.
In terms of promoting the construction of "double first-class" universities, HNU has established collaborative innovation centers to meet the needs of Hainan's industrial development, which focuses on major scientific, engineering, and technical topics, and has achieved fruitful results, Luo said.
