Thanks to the optimization of COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control policies, Sanya's tourism market was hot during the week-long Spring Festival holiday, with the tourism boom continuing.
The city received 1.6 million tourists during the Spring Festival holiday, an increase of 616,400 compared with the 2019 Spring Festival holiday. Recently, the first month of the Lunar New Year of the Rabbit came to an end, with major scenic spots, hotels, and duty-free shops in Sanya still crowded.
The Sanya government has set up a variety of special subsidy funds to stabilize its tourism market. Simultaneously, it has guided the transformation of scenic spots and hotels, such as the Tianya Haijiao and Atlantis Sanya, which have upgraded their facilities.
Sanya continues to create new tourism modes, with its themed tourism, such as parent-child, wedding, duty-free shopping, sports, and health care tourism, forming market scales.
"Compared with traditional coastal sightseeing tourism activities, experiential tourism activities are more and more popular in the market," said Ye Jialin, director of the Sanya tourism promotion board.
In addition, Sanya has increased its supervision of key areas like seafood catering, marine recreation projects, transportation operations, wedding photography, and shopping to improve its tourism market management and service capabilities.
