The Times DF Haikou Mission Hills Centreville Duty-Free City opened on Jan 31 in the Hainan provincial capital of Haikou.
To boost the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port and build Hainan into an international tourism consumption center, the Ministry of Finance, the General Administration of Customs, and the State Administration of Taxation jointly issued a statement on Feb 2 announcing that new duty-free shopping methods are to be introduced in Hainan.
The Sanya International Duty Free Plaza, funded by CNSC, is located on the Visun Plaza, neighboring the city's commercial center, tourism center and sports center. It is also adjacent to the Visun Marina, as well as near high-end hotels on the Banshan Peninsula and the Phoenix Island.
Funded by Hainan Tourism Investment Duty Free Co Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hainan Tourism Investment Development Co Ltd, the Hainan Tourism Duty Free Shopping Complex covers a business area of 95,000 square meters, making it the largest such shopping complex in Sanya city in South China's Hainan province.
