Boao hosts ever lasting medical equipment exhibition

The Boao Hope City Ever Lasting International Innovation Medicine Exhibition, the first expo of its kind in China encompassing displays of unlisted medical devices, opened in Boao, Qionghai on April 10.

The exhibition epitomizes China's openness and global cooperation. It is a key move by Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Area, which is also known as the Boao Hope City, to promote the construction of its big health industry.

A total of 25 multinational companies and more than 300 types of medical equipment not listed in China are exhibiting at the event, which is providing a good window and platform for people to be exposed to the state-of-the-art medical equipment used in medical diagnosis and treatment.

Many international medical giants, including Boston Scientific, Pfizer, Medtronic, Johnson & Johnson, Medical Clinic, and Leading Bionics from the US, as well as those from Japan, South Korea, France, Austria, Demark, Italy, and Belgium are participating in the expo, said Gu Gang, head of the administration bureau of Boao Hope City.

Due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the exhibition is being carried out mainly through online displays, while promotions are also being carried out online. An appointment system has been opened for those who want to visit personally. The number of appointments per day shall not exceed 200, and the number of people entering the venue at the same time shall not exceed 30, according to Gu.

Boston Scientific is showcasing 24 cutting-edged medical apparatuses at the exhibition, covering seven areas including cardiac intervention, heart disease treatment, and tumor treatment. 

Boston Scientific will continue to work together with Boao Hope City to promote the transformation and upgrading of the health industry and its coordinated development while introducing more world-leading minimally invasive surgical products, according to June Chang, president of Boston Scientific Greater China.
