Yangpu Port had handled a total of 1 million TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) as of Dec 25, 2020, according to a recent report in local media outlet Hainan Daily.
Yangpu has now opened 33 domestic and foreign trade routes, and has also established an intra-island "water-to-water transfer" route network, using Yangpu Port as a transit port. Moreover, it has successively opened Yangpu-Haikou, Yangpu-Sanya, and Yangpu-Basuo barge lines.
The stable operation of the routes has strongly promoted the agglomeration of container sources in Yangpu. At the same time, with the implementation of domestic and foreign trade goods on the same ship and bonded oil policies, more shipping-related industries have gathered in Yangpu.
In September, Yangpu opened the first inter-continental shipping route in Hainan Free Trade Port.
