Haikou reports 204,000 negative COVID-19 results

As of Aug 7, all 204,000 nucleic acid samples collected from people in four key areas of Haikou showed negative results, according to a press conference held by Haikou's COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control headquarters on Aug 8.

The city of Haikou launched nucleic acid screenings on Aug 8 in four key areas – Fucheng and Fengxiang subdistricts, Longtang town in Qiongshan district, and Lingshan town in Meilan district. 

On Aug 8, Haikou carried out the second round of nucleic acid testing for all employees in Yunlong town in accordance with the requirements of the city's COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control headquarters.

The Hainan capital reported two confirmed cases, one on Aug 1 and another on Aug 7. Both have been hospitalized and are in stable condition.

According to the press conference on Aug 8, the city reported 29,408 people had yellow Hainan Health Codes and 2,086 of those people's health codes turned green on the same day. The total number of people whose codes changed from yellow to green hit 20,000, and there are 9,408 remaining yellow codes.
